Assessment:

Formative Assessments are crucial for me to check my students understanding. I include many kinds of formative assessment, such as exit tickets, verbal check-ins, and observations. Through verbal check-ins and observations, I am able to adjust my instruction in real time. Adjusting my instruction allows me to address my students misunderstanding and support or challenge them to success.

Differentiation:

I differentiate instruction based on my students individual needs. During my student teaching, I would use data to determine the areas that my students need additional support on or greater challenges. I would create small groups that focus on the certain subject for my students needs.

Multilingual Learners:

I support comprehension and language production for multilingual learners by providing visuals and sentence frames to help students practice academic language and sentence structure. In addition, I incorporate different ways for students to practice sentence structure, such as whole-group discussions, partner-talk, or oral presentations one-on-one. I also include Total Physical Response and incorporate music when introducing new subjects for my students to make connections to. I affirm my students home language by valuing their cultural background and creating lesson plans that include their interests, assets, and connections to their own experiences.
